A fixed cost worth examining
Regular medications are easy to treat as a fixed fact of life — but they add up, and they're often more flexible than they feel. List your recurring prescriptions and pharmacy items at their real cadence to see the true monthly and yearly cost.
Seeing the annual figure is what makes worthwhile conversations concrete: generics, 90-day fills, pharmacy discount programs, or assistance schemes that can meaningfully lower a recurring bill.
How this fits into your recurring money
Medication is recurring money that rarely gets questioned — it feels non-negotiable, so it's the last thing anyone reviews. But it's a recurring cost like any other, and the recurring costs you never look at are exactly the ones that quietly grow.
Recurrings keeps every recurring charge, including health ones, in one honest place — so the total is visible and the chances to lower it are too.
The math
monthly total = Σ ( cost × times billed per year ) ÷ 12 annual total = monthly total × 12
Each medication is normalized to a monthly equivalent and summed, so a quarterly refill sits fairly beside a monthly one. The annual total is twelve times the monthly figure — the yearly cost of staying well.
This tool only adds up costs. Never change or stop a prescription based on price — talk to your doctor or pharmacist first.
Common questions
What should I add here?
Every medication, supplement, or pharmacy item you buy on a repeating basis — monthly refills, quarterly orders, anything recurring. Enter each at its real cadence to see the true monthly and annual cost.
Why total medication costs?
Recurring health costs are easy to treat as fixed and unavoidable, but seeing the annual figure can prompt useful conversations — generics, 90-day fills, or assistance programs that lower the recurring spend.
Is this medical advice?
No — it only adds up costs. Never change or stop a prescription based on price; talk to your doctor or pharmacist about lower-cost options.
